I love going through blogs. I navigate through the sea of blogosphere each night before I retire to bed. It has become almost a ritual. I believe this is because blogs, especially of the personal kind, got a way of touching my life in ways I do not always expect. It was like being invited to step into someone else's life for a moment and then back to reflect on your own. Often, in the process, you begin to see things beautiful in your life that your own eyes were just too clouded to see. It is only sad, that with so many blogs floating in cyberspace, plenty of blogs do not get the attention they rightly deserve.
As a way of testimonial for all the blogs I had and will have the privilege of partaking, I thought of putting up this blog. I would not be offering critiques here, that is not my business. I would only want to give my personal impressions of these blogs and impressions are not up for debate.
We are inviting other readers to share with us blogs they feel others should take time to read together with their own impressions.
I strongly agree with you. There are numerous blogs around that are simply not noticed. I think one of the many reasons is that blogs have become so commercialized. Some are blogging for money ALONE and fore go the real essence of blogging which is writing and sharing to others what can be a very good learning experience. In my opinion, personal blogs can touch more lives because it's a journal of life's daily struggles and that's what life is, a real struggle and how we hurdle this life's challenges can be very crucial. I love the way you write. You write from the heart and I can feel it. Keep blogging and I would love to be back here to read more of your entries.
There is clearly a certain sensitivity around your posts. Perhaps it is best captured in your words:"Impressions are not up for debate" (at least I think that's what you said from memory).
As for personal blogs touching more lives "...because it's a journal of life's daily struggles and that's what life is..." according to scotty's princess...You know that is the kind of thinking that always leaves me feeling uneasy. Perhaps it is best if I take it up in a post myself but for now, I would just like to say that I have found people just as endearing when they have shared their triumphs and successes as when they have shared their struggles and suffering with me...
Anyway, I've enjoyed my visit and the opportunity to air this particular discomfort that I have had for sometime!!!
Yeah debating, criticizing and whatever irritating issues on some posts. I admire you sensitivity in blogging matters which I want to consider always. Respecting every bloggers because they are doing the best that they can give whatever is it.
I agree with you wholeheartedly! It's a shame that so many really good blogs, full of information, excitement and entertainment seem to drown in the sea known as the blogosphere.
Different from another blog (even my blog too) that I ever seen for this week, your blog is so "full of feelings" (I don't know a word to explain this :) ).
*laughs* I love blogs. I have about 100 I follow daily (or at least scan over looking for something I want to read more in depth). Thanks for highlighting some of the special ones for us.
i agree with you, lots of blogs out there are really great but they go unnoticed. you get to read some beautifully written posts garnering no comments at all.
i'd like to invite you to visit my blog if you have the time. i would appreciate comments and suggestions. thanks :)
You are so right, there are so many blogs out in the blogosphere, it's hard to find them all! With the advent of blogging platforms like wordpress and drupal, it makes it much easier for everyone to have a voice through their own blog.
Certainly, reading other people's blogs allows you to take a step back and reflect on your own life, have a good laugh, and also learn something new.
Thats a very sweet entry, blogging has always been my outlet when my mom passed away last year. I couldn't seem to say my feelings out loud so I write them done. In so writing I hope to share with others what I felt for my loss. Giving them the insight of how others cope with pain and loss. Am glad I stumbled unto this blog ... its very enlightening and inspiring. Thank you for your non-judgmental attitude.
This is a nice idea. I come across so many interesting blogs but also some very poor ones--especially since joining link referral. It took me an hour to find four blogs worth rating! Whew! Those four, however, were very interesting and I probably would not have found them otherwise since they didn't have EC cards.
I enjoy the personal blogs as well. The ones with advertising all over really turn me off--they look so cluttered.
I know the feeling you have. I too enjoy finding those personal blogs. It is as you, like someone inviting you in to view their life, troubles, and happiness. I applaud you for trying to bring them to light. I always try to mention blogs I have found interesting. Thank you, and I'll be back to read your impressions.
Enjoyed Visiting your blog. I'm just the opposite, I'm usually first thing in the AM while I'm waiting on the office computers to come up. But I do enjoy visiting the other blogs.
Your site has become an extremely interesting one to me. You take time to display blogs and sites that offer meaning and heart-felt sentiment, that may have otherwise become lost in the great vastness of the Internet. Your hard work to bring recognition to these sites is amazing, and I thank you for opening me up to sites that I would have normally never had the chance to view! Keep up the good work, and keep the sites coming. Each site you feature is unique, and your fabulous reviews and recognition of these sites should not go unnoticed. Because of that, I am proud to award you with the "Brilliante Weblog Premio 2008" Award. You can read more of what I have to say about you and your site on mine, as well as pick up your award. I hope that you do accept the award and wear it and display it with pride! Thank you!
I find that the desire to make money has made some blogs just go down in money. It should be an aside that if it happens great but if not at least you got your message out there
Well, I think yours is a most excellent idea for a blog. I wish you all the best!
My blog's not all that notable, (unless you're counting music notes - hah!) but I am interviewing a very notable musician for next week. Does that count?
Looking forward to reading your impressions and finding some notable blogs through you!
To get a glimpse or a slice of a person's life through blogs made me realize that people wherever they come from are essentially the same in terms of issues with life. And it is also interesting to note that what really separates us from one another is motivation. Each to his own I think.
But thanks for helping us thresh the chaff from the grain.
As others have already said it is so true about people just flying by the pages that everyone has created. It is truly wonderful to know that there is someone like yourself out there who genuinely cares. Some how just knowing there is at least one individual out there makes it all worthwhile. There are a lot of blogs out there just trying to make money with tons of flash and pop ups but there is also some of us who are just trying to share something.Weather it be experience, personal thought or art.I believe it to be the later that suffers the most.Thank You for caring about the ones who are trying to make a difference. P.S.If there were more like you taking the time to enjoy, and not steam rolling through,in the world. Perhaps the world would be a safer place.
I love reading other people as well. I was going crazy last night because I didn't have any internet all day and night yesterday. I was having blog withdrawels.
Wow, that's really very nice of you. I click on some of Blogger's Blog of Note and think, "Why? This blog is nonsense!" Makes me think that there must be some sort of campaigning going on there.
Anyway, that's why I'm grateful for Entrecard. I've found some really wonderful blogs. And, like you, I've been happily immersed in the lives of others.
The reason I started blogging was due to a person who I knew through a greyhound forum. She died unexpectedly and that's when I found her blog. I read so many things about her life... hopes, fears, dreams. I only wish I would have discovered her blog when she was still alive. I still look at her blog and cry knowing that it will never be updated again.
I also enjoy finding and reading different blogs and many times have found some thatI can relate to. You have a lovely blog with enjoyable writting. Best Wishes
I know there are SO MANY great blogs out there and SO LITTLE time to find them all! I like the way you set time aside each day to explore new posts. I love gems, do it, post them, and I'll be back to see what all you list. Thanks for sharing!
I agree with you. I am a frustrated blogger and I own 9 blogs to date. Blogging is my only way of keeping my sanity intact. As a stay-at-home wife and an immigrant from another country... i need to do something to keep me productive or else i will lose it. i left behind everything to be with the Love of my Life and the future is unknown... but through blogging i was able to establish different kind of relationships with people i dont even know and yet they give me inspirations that keep me hanging on. Like you, I visit them too and keep myself updated with the goings-on and they keep me company too to a certain point.
What a cool idea! Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by the amount of blogs I come in contact with each day. This is a cool way to highlight the special ones. Good luck!
I feel like you. I spend so much time blogging every day. I really would like for you to visit my blog http://stirlaughrepeat.blogspot.com and my website:www.marthaskitchenkorner.com I hope you will find both worth your time. Martha
It helps in getting an insight to the lives of different continent, races, culture and religions, but through blogging we would be able to understand each other more and feel for each other, like living in a big..big family.
Hai! I agree with you! I love reading other people's blog but mostly pet and animal blogs...I should get into more broad range of blogging sites for sure!! Thanks!
Well said and inspiring. I am still trying to get back my normal blogging, you know read blogs, do comments and reply their comments too. But it's been almost a year now my interest in blogging is poor. Too much paid post and other advertising makes me discourage to read their article.
I agree completely! I love diving into a blog that is personal, heartfelt, and you feel like you really get to know the person. The first blog I ever read, Dooce, made me feel that way. Give me a messy, rambling, scattered blog written by an honest-to-God person versus a perfectly-crafted "niche" blog any day.
I love your blog. I would like permission to quote your words about bloggers and link back to your blog. Please let me know if this is possible. My blog is http://lauriebethbeggin.blogspot.com With gratitude, Laurie B.
This is such a great idea. There are a lot of good blogs out there, but they're harder to find than they should be. I enjoying visiting blogs on different subjects, even though I write about news and current events.
All my best wishes as you go forward with this. I'll be checking in regularly.
A very sweet blog. I like your sharing, non-judgemental attitude.

ReplyDeleteI like your blog. Keep writing
Thanks for putting your heart out there. You have inspired me to go out there and read more blogs!
ReplyDeleteJustin
Well, that's interesting.
ReplyDeleteYesterday I stumbled over a blog that copied photos and texts from other blogs, violating copyright with each and every post.
But a blog respectfully pointing to other blogs...
I wonder however why you don't share your own story when you've been touched by others.
Give them a chance to be touched by you.
The blogosphere is huge! Good luck with this endeavor!
ReplyDelete*laughs* I love blogs. I have about 100 I follow daily (or at least scan over looking for something I want to read more in depth). Thanks for highlighting some of the special ones for us.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree. I am pulled in by personal blogs more than others. It's kind of nice to see how we relate to each other, that we are similar.
